2/17-18
Made the first full mockup for the crown.

2/19
Made the crown sit flat and fixed the curve for the spires.

2/20-2/23
Worked on and fully cut foam crown base and spires.

2/24
Cut Wonderflex and began to attach to the crown and spires and painted the half sphere attachments white.

2/25
Finished attaching wonder flex, attached spires to crown base, attached trim, paper mached the trim, attached white half spheres.

2/26
Painted the crown black to help provide depth for the paint, as it is somewhat see-through and what is underneath heavily impacts it. I then painted it a warm gold and added detailing with a coppery color as well as some depth with shading.

3/4
I added the felt to the inside. for both actor comfort and to give a better finish to the inside.

Overall I’m really happy with how the base shape of the crown turned out, I manage to get my Wonderflex smooth and didn’t have as much of a learning curve as I’ve had with other mediums. What I’m least happy with is the gap between the half circles and the wonderflex, it isn’t that noticeable from far away but I wish that I’d figured out something to cover it with. I also would have liked to get the felt significantly neater. I also think that it needed more detail or intricacy in the design than it has.
